Son of Lawrence Wilke, Ben Wilke started building cellos in 2011 at 14 years old. He completed his first cello at 16. In 2014 At the Violin Society of America International Competition he was awarded a tone award for his second cello becoming the youngest participant to ever win an award. In 2016, at 19, his fourth cello won a silver medal for tone at the VSA international competition. He has built fourteen cellos to date and is continuing to improve his skills and has proved to be a talented young maker.
Ben is a member of the Connecticut National Guard and enjoys cross fit and motorcycle racing.
